In the Bag is a social impact initiative that is focused on supporting people in need in my community (South West London Boroughs). Our activities are primarily aimed at helping the homeless community and people sleeping rough by focusing on the provision of carefully curated hygiene kits. With a focus on sustainability, we primarily repurpose unused airline wash bags and include key basic necessities that may not otherwise be easily available to this community. In addition to hygiene kits, our efforts are aimed at assisting with the job seeking process — where we provide a printed handbook with some simple tips.
Taking one step further, our project also looks forward to fostering a deeper understanding of the issue and advocating for needed policy changes by engaging with local community groups. By raising awareness of the issue through direct support initiatives and advocacy, In the Bag’s ultimate aim is to provide solutions that not only meet immediate needs, but also contribute to long-term solutions and systemic change.
